That is very interesting. I’ll try these cases here. It looks like POV-Ray is providing an alpha channel that is not completely opaque. I didn’t think it did this. It should be easy to fix I think.

LPub 2.3.0.2 is available. It fixes the problem Philo discovered with transparency and layouts.

Hi Kevin. I want to fix LDView so that the camera angle and what-not matches the L3P output as closely as possible. However, I can’t seem to get LPub to use LDView as a renderer.

I select LDView.exe from the list on the Renderer tab, and then click the LDView button and browse to my debug version of LDView, but LPub still uses L3P instead. I put the full path to LDView.exe in my config.lpb file, but then LPub complains about not being able to find the render (giving the full path to LDView in the error message), and says it will use L3P instead.

Does this version support using LDView as a renderer, and if so, how do I get it to work?

LPub has LDView render popped down, so you don’t see the window pop up.

I was trying to render http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=126902

pedmatics.mpd using LDView.

Not only is there a problem with the lens angle and such, LDView doesn’t handle hoses generated by LSynth very well. They look good in MLCad, and POV-Ray, but they don’t do well in LDVIew. Care to give it a peek?

I’m excited about LDView and LDGlite as renderers. I know Larry is a big fan of outlined bricks in his building instructions.

Thanks, Kevin

(...) Actually, I added a MessageBox call to the very beginning of LDView so that I could attach a debugger. It never showed up, and L3P ran and generated POV files, so I really don't think it's running LDView for me. (...) I'll take a look. (...) (19 years ago, 14-May-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

(...) Hi Kevin, Can I join in the fun? Say I want to run a minimal setup of LPub with only ldglite as the renderer. I had this going a while back, but the latest version won't even let me get started. I get the dialog box with "Cannot find POV-Ray, (...) (19 years ago, 16-May-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)
