Todd, This isn't a huge issue and I can live with it like it is but I just thought I would mention that when Editing LUGNET home pages with Netscape the text does not automatically line-rap like it does in IE. Just an idea - what if the dots in the bottom of a thread would have ALT tags that would have some info on the message they're pointing to... i.e.: "Dan Boger - Dot's ALT tag" That way, if I've already read through all the thread, and want to go (...) (...) while good, this still doesn't solve the general problem of spam off lugnet. How about hiding posting email addresses on messages posted, except for members? Just have it say "From: Dan_Boger@luget.com" or just "From: (...) (26 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) They do seem to leave enough room to terminate accounts for situations like this. If I was an ISP, I would attempt to get this problem resolved, and reccomend they change their T&C. Yep, I got it too. First time I've had any of these spam messages and I find this one even more objectionable than the others I read about - it's blatant. Chuck him off LUGNET! Did anyone notice on his site, as well as the crazy high starting prices (...) (26 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Agreed. Unfortunately, it looks to be from someone with a free ISP account in the UK. Freeserve doesn't explicity outlaw spam but they do say "In particular, you will not use Freeserve to transmit or post anymaterial which is defamatory, (...) (...) Well, I checked a few things out. The web page the e-mail references to appears to be maintained by a Stuart Humphrey using the e-mail address used in the SPAM. He doesn't appear to be a member or to have posted (or at least posted using his (...) (26 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

I think that this guy is mining the lugnet.shopping posts as usually I don't post in it, but yesterday I did and I got this e-mail too.
