Exactly, well put. If the writer clearly states intent to _conclude_ the
on-topic discussion and start an off-topic one, then I don't have a problem
either. It's when there could still be somewhat relevant info in a mostly
off-topic discussion that's the stuff I don't want to miss out on, and I
feel that if people get a bit lazy about follow-ups then readers like myself
will miss out on interesting info, that's all. _Splitting_ a thread using
follow-ups (with the main branch staying on-topic) is possibly another good
alternative, yes?
