then all the mail spammers send would be going directly to lugnet, something
i don't think any of us want (especially the sysadmins!). spammers generally
don't handpick e-mail addresses, they usually harvest them from the web or
newsgroups or both, or get a list .. so they wouldn't realize that their
messages weren't going to real people, and it wouldn't make any difference
to them.
i don't see how it would make blocking the right (if there is such a thing)
person any easier, either .. maybe you could elaborate?

As for the spam going to the newsgroups, it can (and it does) only if the poster has gone through the mail setup procedure. Otherwise, (...) (24 years ago, 26-May-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
