Is there a unique identifier hard coded into the RCX? I recall reading somewhere that the serial number printed on the side of the RCX could be called up using NQC or LegOS. Just a quick thought, I was thinking that using both the light and temperature sensors might be the way to go. Let the robot search or seek the brightness of the flame with the light sensor. I am trying to build a sensor to attach to the RCX that can sense a candle flame. I'll be attaching it to a robot that will use it to look for a candle, go to it and extinguish it. Hi Matt, I too think that it would be a good idea to dive a bit into LOTR. Not, however, to get story/character ideas. You are taking the correct path, IMO, in creating your own world and creatures.
