I agree with many others here in feeling that "The Chronicles of Ikros" is a
superb title that should not be changed. It is a terrific way to describe a
long series of stories. However, I think a subtitle is a perfect way to
denote separate stories in the series. I offer my suggestion above. This
title inspires in my mind epic, fiery battle scenes (which there are in
abundance!), and since the battle does not occur until the climax of the
story, the promise of said conflict will hopefully intrigue the reader
enough to read the story from the beginning, savoring the anticipation of
dragon-on-dragon action!
