(...) You might be surprised. Putting the "UFO" alien helmet on a trans-orange head produces a very dark eyesocket. The visor slit for the Imperial Guard would probably be about the same size. I just looked at Starwars.com, and they show a red visor, or at least, the shadowed face of the guard appears as if the visor were red. (URL) looks better, IMHO, but there could be more than one visor color. Maybe it's a smoky red color so it (...) (24 years ago, 22-Aug-00, to lugnet.starwars)

Yeah, I saw the same thing at a Target near my house. It is only half, so you still have your sanity. The one I saw had a wing broken off. I tried to find someone to fix it, but no one was around.
