hi list! i once got a completely jammed motor from a brickbay seller. i took it apart and found a similiar situation. i was confused very much by the (ferrite?) magnet which isn't a solid block of metal, but some kind of debris which only holds (...) (24 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Besides the extra 258 you sent, 247 corresponds to a message command. There is no response expected from the RCX. What did you expect the RCX to react? Did you program anything in the RCX to react to the message you sent? (24 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi John, Sorry for the incorrectness: "the upper right restore/maximize button still doesn't work" is the button of the Main Window. The child window is working OK. I thought originally you were interested in building .icb files, not rebuilding the pcode file. If you want to rebuild the pcode, you need the HB distribution of the pcode, which is at (URL) . You cannot program them independantly, but you can make sure your programs respond to different IR messages during normal operation. Hi, It looks like you really meant a single "byte". To my understanding from the RCX 2.0 (with usb port) SDK available from Lego, the "byte" would have to be wrapped up in a certain way, such as leading sync bytes plus a number of conditions to form (...) I've never had one of these motors, so I don't know what's inside. However, I used to rebuild starter motors for vehicles and a problem like this was usually associated to solidified grease, especially in gear reduction motors. We used to set the (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

If you decide to use LegOS you won't be needing nor will you have the chance to use NQC because a RCX with LegOS loaded won't understand nor respond to any standard firmware commands. LegOS is an operation system ( a firmware replacement in itself) It's like a mini UNIX system, that will run true C compiled programs on RCX. I'm not 100% sure, but when I used Spirit.OCX (VC, VB, Delphi, etc...) for some research, I was under the impression that it supported 3 types of interface: "Radio" (CyberMaster), "InfraRed" (RCX, Scout) and I think it was "Cable" or "Direct" or (...) The Studios software can actually work with other cams (at least it works with my Creative cam). The trick is to alter the Registry entry to the name of your other cam (noted from System Control Panel). Likewise, I would guess that the Pinnacle (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

I used the datalog to upload a batch of data to the PC and then used Excel's import to make it into a spreadsheet. It was easy and worked well.
