Hi, It looks like you really meant a single "byte". To my understanding from the RCX 2.0 (with usb port) SDK available from Lego, the "byte" would have to be wrapped up in a certain way, such as leading sync bytes plus a number of conditions to form (...) (23 years ago, 22-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Besides the extra 258 you sent, 247 corresponds to a message command. There is no response expected from the RCX. What did you expect the RCX to react? Did you program anything in the RCX to react to the message you sent? (23 years ago, 23-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)
