A couple corrections. 1. Just noticed I have a 2 x 4 plate on top of a 1 x 4 brick. You should probably replace these two pieces with a 2 x 4 brick or similar. Seeing the pitiful designs I've made for motorized 9v train points, my brother Chris came up with one. Put a housing over it, and people will swear it's a relay. I found some of that light weight table cloth material we discussed last Sunday. They didn't any green but I bought some Blue that looks really nice. It comes in 40 inch x 100 foot rolls. Either option beats the pants off how I did my first automatic crossing system- it was a electrical kludge (and I still can't think of a better way to do it- in (...) Awesome looking crossing. I like the small size of the motors. What do you use to control this? I was in a hobby store last week looking at DCC stuff and they had crossing sensors for this sort of thing. Also, what happens with the gate is down? Do (...) Thanks for the positive feedback. I think I like the red one better. I think it's the minimalist in me. But black seems to be a more traditional color. Crossings get gates at various points in history, based on local grousing, the railroad's capital budget, the actual traffic observed at the crossing, federal or state highway funding etc etc so there's certainly lots of (...) I've made a couple new models of the crossing gates. With the black one, I tried to hide the red motor. With the red one, I tried to make my peace with the red motor. We aren't an LTC, but if the LTC kits are slightly different, we should get that version because we are doing a train show. Plus, we still need catalogs. I am contemplating how to integrate control of a roundhouse roundtable with control of trains using LDCC (URL). Currently the roundtable software is in NQC on an RCX and is controlled by IR messages 1, 2 and 3, which can be generated by the LEGO (...) Mark, I'll be there. I'll be bringing some track and baseplates so we can get everything laid out. I've finished four sets of crossover switches and 4 sets of "true curve" switches. Thanks for the reply, Mark. (...) Both motors had Digitrax DN121 decoders (...) I don't think the DN121 has this. (...) Both had the factory default speed tables. (...) Yet another reply to the problem was that it is very likely to have been over heating! The problem I guess is likely to occure when running the heavier engines and cars with DCC.
