What is a sovereign nation? Is there really such a thing anymore?
Everything seems so global these days. Global corporations. Global
terrorist organizations. Global special interest groups. The
global internet. Nothing much seems rooted to a specific patch of
land. As soon as you've identified that patch of land, the slippery
global entity simply packs up and moves somewhere else. So how does a
land based sovereign nation keep up in such an environment?
Perhaps it's time to admit that Microsoft and the Islamofascist
movement are just as sovereign as nations delineated by geographic
boundaries. Shift the paradigm already. The world has changed.
