I think the characterization of the bulk packs as "trial balloons" is
inaccurate.  They are a direct result of Jake's persuading the company to
issue a last shot at obtaining the original colors before they are gone
forever, {as a service to AFOLs}.  Were it not for his actions, this would
never have happened. The decision has been made.

Now, that is not to say that TLC might take pause at how quickly these packs
sell out (if indeed they do sell out quickly) and {reconsider} the decision.
But the bottom line is that it will be the bottom line that will change their
minds, not incessant complaining.

Certainly the bulk packs would not have happened without Jake's efforts, and I
accept his assertion at face value that this is intended to be a one-time deal.
However, we know for a fact that TLC is in the process of re-evaluating their
entire business, and if that process doesn't include taking a second look at the
wisdom of the color change then I would be very surprised.

I think we've seen ample evidence over the past few years of two things:
1. TLC recognizes AFOLs as a market segment (however small) that they want to
satisfy.
2. TLC does not always know what is best for their own business, and they are
not above making (and later, reversing) bad decisions.

I might not know any better than they do what is good/bad for their business,
but I will continue to give them my feedback as a once-and-future high-volume
customer.

Continued complaining may or may not help.  But I remain optimistic that the
company has one eye on what happens here, and that we have at least some small
chance of affecting their decision-making process.  If the whole issue had blown
over quickly, one might very well assume that the issue doesn't matter all that
much to any of us.  The fact that it hasn't blown over might be tiresome (to
everyone!) but it is simply a side-effect of the degree to which this change
impacts so many of us.

Two final points:
1. There has been repetition on BOTH sides of this issue, which is why the
discussion will not die.
2. There has been negativism on BOTH sides of this issue.  I don't like to see
people bashing Jake or TLC, but that is preferable to us bashing each other.
The corporation can take it, but I am not certain that this community can.
