Unfortunately, LEGO doesn't have decent competition. We all know how terrible
"LEGO Compatable" blocks really are. If they had real competition (like Coke
had when they came out with New Coke), customers really could vote with their
wallet by switching to the competition.
Pepsi made a killing when New Coke came out because they were a viable
alternative to New Coke. Coke was hurt badly by the whole New Coke fiasco.
The only option here is to stop buying LEGO completely. That's not an option
for those of us who actually want to continue with the hobby. Unfortunately,
the only way we can really show our support of the old colors is to buy them.
Not buying them shows LEGO we either don't care about the change, or our dollars
weren't worth it anyway (since they think AFOL's won't significantly impact the
overall sales in any given year).
The only way to send a message they'll hear is to buy the old colors in these
bulk packs and do it quickly.
