Sorry to but in from the US... I haven't ever done the math to see how real
the US IRS's allowable deduction of 28 cents per mile (it may be higher, that
was what it was the last time I deducted milage at this rate) compared to
actual cost, but... Of course your gasoline is more expensive, and insurance
costs are highly relative based on locale (what does that insurance cover?
That's a LOT cheaper than insurance in the US). Your cars are probably also
somewhat more expensive.
Jason, where do you drive? 20k miles per year is well above the average in the
US (based on the tables in used car guides, average in the US would be about
12k per year, but in reality, I think it's somewhat higher - perhaps as high
as 14k).
