(...) Thanks Kevin. But one word...YUCH! Though that off-road Racer truck looks cool. LEGO never fails to dissapoint me. Thank god for those re-issues. (23 years ago, 29-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(...) I can second the desire for better, higher resolution scans. Even so, I have the following questions/comments: #4712 -- Hary Potter set. What is that thing -- a white fountain, a sink, a toilet? Is that a pumpkin head? What is the big purple (...) (23 years ago, 29-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

Sweet... new pics and info is always welcome. What does everyone think of the Technic Vader? I think it looks pretty good, but being a low-res scan it could be messy. I also like the twin pod cloud car and the Ewok stuff... but I'm not sure about (...) (23 years ago, 29-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Ok, ok - I hear you :) I did that quickly so you could see them and I could get back to the evening with my wife and kids - I'll work to get higher res/bigger scans up later this evening (23 years ago, 29-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.general)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(Reply to the thread in general: thank Tim at FBTB.net, they're not my scans. I'm just the messenger.) (...) The scene in question takes place in a washroom-- so yes, sink or toilet is it. The large character is a troll (shown briefly in some (...) (23 years ago, 30-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

One word. Ugh. That has to be the worst group of SW sets ever. I love my SW sets. I love my AAT and MTT. I just don't like any of these sets. They come across as minifig packs or very angular. I see the Ewok sets as the cheap way to get ST's but you (...) (23 years ago, 30-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(...) Those new Ogel sub arms appear in spades in the new Alpha Team stuff--and that IS indeed a new canopy type. Very cool. The QUEST seems also to use those new POOP-arms. best LFB (23 years ago, 30-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

  Best new part EVER

Look at this: (URL) See the grey pieces on top of 4795 (and on the back of the yellow sub, that stretches across the page seam)? (...) Stubbies is my guess (can I coin that phrase now, for everyone to use for the rest of time?) [1] This would make sense for the future Yoda figure too. And HP house-elves. And children. Whoohoo! Anyone else notice Obi-Wan's braid is printed on his shirt? So much for a new hair piece. I don't need more brown hair, I need more brown SW hoods. (...) In defense of the new canopies... For the first time in a while, they designed a new canopy that actually matches existing piece geometry.   Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(...) That is my feeling as well. Let's hope the summer line-up has more to do with town. More specificly, something that has to do with classic-style town. Ben (23 years ago, 30-Oct-01, to lugnet.town)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(...) I don't think this is the case. If you look at the new Harry Potter sets, the goblins look shorter than mini-figs. I like the orange head. I am with the crowd or "more orange pieces please" so I don't feel like discouraging Lego over that one.   Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

The new alpha team looks great, much better than the ones we have had so far. These are the kinds of sets that may inspire me to try to build spaceshps again, as lego doesn't seem to be catering to my castle needs much in 2002. Love the new (...) (23 years ago, 31-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

(...) <<<SNIP>>> Jason, Your not seeing the episode 2 sets because I'm sure there is an agreement with Lucasarts on them. So all you can see is the "old" SW stuff. Most of the time was spent on those. The cool stuff is still on the way... Matt (23 years ago, 31-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

More POOPs and licenses (was Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB)

Re: More POOPs and licenses (was Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB)

(...) I wonder about that every time I see a zillion of those sets still setting on the shelves. Could it be that, in order to secure the Spielberg/LEGO Studios deal, it was necessary to license Jurassic Park III? Is there any way to find out? Dave! (23 years ago, 31-Oct-01, to lugnet.year.2002)

Re: 2002 catalog scans at FBTB

(...) What's wrong with that? A full-sized mini-figure torso has no alternate uses either. I really want a few of the new figures because 1) A new figure is for once smaller than mini-figures, sort of in-between "mini-fig" and "micro-fig" scale. I (...)
