(...) If you click the "More" button next to the 16 standard colour buttons, you get a dialog that displays all MLCad's colours. The colour box can be scrolled to reveal them. Hovering your mouse over a colour swatch pops up the colour name, (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: How do I specify colors not part of MLCAD?

(...) You'll find that many of the colors on that list are already recognized by MLCad. For instance, if you type 383 in as a color number, and then hit Tab, it shows Chrome as the color name. Of course, this isn't all that helpful, since you had to (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: How do I specify colors not part of MLCAD?

Thank you for the info Travis. Is there a configuration file or a way I can enter all these color values into MLCAD so each time I use it the appropriate color names and color numbers are already in the MLCAD color picker? - John [SNIP] (...)   Re: How do I specify colors not part of MLCAD?

OK, I think I found a partial answer to my question. It looks like I can cross reference LEGO part colors to LDRAW color numbers here: (URL) opens another question for me though. Is there a way I can change MLCADS color list so that it will have all (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: How do I specify colors not part of MLCAD?

(...) If the color has an LDraw color number, you can just type the number into the Color number field in the MLCad "Select color" dialog. Many colors won't have numbers, but chrome silver and gold both do. Take a look at this color list, which (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad, FTX)

How do I specify colors not part of MLCAD?

When creating some models in MLCAD I come across some colors that are not part of the default palette in MLCAD. How do I find out what color number to specify? For example I have some chrome parts I want to create in MLCAD and I see not color for (...) (18 years ago, 27-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  Re: "Left" view

(...) Actually, front and back are the same in both projections. One might argue that since MLCad does the top and bottom views that we're expecting, that this invalidates the argument. However, remember that the LDraw coordinate system is flipped, (...) (19 years ago, 7-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, FTX)

  Re: "Left" view

(...) Hmm, maybe. But in both first- and third-angle projections, the central view/projection shows the same side of the object. In the case of MLCAD, when you choose 'front view', you are shown the front of the model. Same for top, bottom, and back (...) (19 years ago, 7-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, FTX)

  Re: "Left" view

(...) Hello, all. I'm a new poster to this newsgroup, usually just a lurker. This discussion caught my eye and I wanted chime in. Perhaps the reason the LEFT view appears wrong is due to the orthographic projection scheme used by MLCad--First-Angle (...) (19 years ago, 7-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad, FTX)

  Re: Error message

(...) Hi David, rect3.dat is a primitive which should have been put in your LDRAW\P directory. Check that directory to make sure it is there and has that file. If not, you should download the latest official parts file from here (URL) will need (...) (19 years ago, 2-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I get the error message "rect3.dat not found continue loading Yes/No". It doesn't matter what I select I still get lots of these messages. I haven't got this file in my directory. What have I done wrong, is there something I haven't downloaded? (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Re: Exporting Minifig to Maya - edgy model

Re: Exporting Minifig to Maya - edgy model

LDraw primitives are such that a smart converter can use aribtrary complexity for cylinders, spheres, tori, etc. Having said that, it doesn't sound (...)   Exporting Minifig to Maya - edgy model

Hey, I've been stuck with this problem for a while, so now I've come here for a discussion. It's quite simple actually, but I must say that I'm fairly new in the 3d world so I might have missed something crucial here. 1. I've made a simple minifig (...)
