Sorry for the smartypants non-answer, but you'd probably find it easier going to
just model the minifg in Maya to begin with. I think someone even had a tutorial
on how to do this somewhere, though I can't remember the link offhand. Maybe it
was Pro-E..

I use minifigs as a way to teach 3D AutoCAD and 3DS. This semester I'll probably
also use them to teach Rhino. It really isn't that hard, and the students
(usually) think it's fun. :)

Hey, that sounds like really good idea though. Wonder why it didn't even
cross my mind. I guess I wasn't That eager to render that minifig, but
now I am :) I could easyly use the low-res fig as a template.

However, I can recall I've seen renderings of legomen and their stuff
around the net, and I've never reacted to whether they were edgy etc.
How are these high-res minifigs made I wonder? or was it just the fact
that they were placed away from the camera that made me not notice
anything low-res about them?

example: This one seems to be done in Leocad. Have anyone had the
experience that the minfig generator in Leocad makes more high-res
characters?
