Tony, My rubberbelt generator (or the derived one included in MLCad) can be used to generate toruses using 4-4cyli primitive. Jake, From your detailed descriptions and pictures (thanks) , it looks to me like the piece you are looking for is 2819.dat (which is an official piece already). This needs to be updated in the Peeron set inventory by someone who has the set and can (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.cad)

All, I am in desperate need of a particular part! I'm not sure if it has been created or not. Some pics: (URL) part is basically a small Technic steering wheel. If you look closely at Classic Windows, you'll find that there are diffeences in many details. See (URL) for the details I have found. See suggested 27a.dat, 27b.dat, and 27c.dat (recently posted). I have to question calling any of these an "axle joiner". They bear no resemblance in appearance or function to the basic Technic Axle Joiner 6538, which is actually designed to join two axles together rigidly. None of these "axle joiner (...) Wanting to confirm one other thing. Is it intentional that a .ldr file with the same name as a part will not actually be procssed and result in a .pov file with only the part? I know that I had this part at one time. It's that steering arm with 3 ball joints from the 8448. I cannot find it any place I look. (...) Confirmed! Well spotted. Any non-scaling reference to a part is shrunk, except if the reference is from a part. A part is currently defined as a file located in PARTS. In my problem description I didn't mention that I had actually included the part in an mlcad model, so effectively it was created as a Type 1 line. The solution to the problem though seems to have been removing the part from the ldraw models (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jan-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

I appear to have answered my own question, though I don't understand the answer :) It seems that if the part is located in the LDRAW\MODELS directory, the extended face problem exists. Here's something I whipped up that I find extremely useful for patterned parts in particular. When trying to put something inside a circle (or anywhere near a curved section), this lets you avoid 2 problems: 1: having to calculate the awkward (...) Hi, What is the procedure for new colours? Like the new colour used in the Santa Fe cars. I use Color399 now and have made a POV material definition for it. I just had occasion to draw something using 2878.dat which are the 9V era large train "wheels" (actually an assembly of the 2879 wheel/axle and the holders, misnamed as wheels) This entire part seems to be done with "Main color" at least in the (...) hi thx for answering my post =) ok, the reasons you mentioned are right. maybe i'm not the one with the most knowledege about lego.
