i'm missing things like curves and switches.

A few hours after your post Ludo Soute posted about the switch:

I have a "Train Track Slotted Rail Curved Inside" in progress.

well i'm really a newbe with "electronic" Lego. Also i don't have any =).
But if anyone could take some good photos as reference, i'll also help  >building up the library.

Please consider to restrain yourself from any attempt to model a part that
is not actually in your hands. Previous experences showed that people taking
a similar aproach generally submitted very poor part files, containing bad
mistakes they probalbly would not have made when they carefully examined the
part with their own eyes. It might be a waste of your good intended effort.

Most parts, certainly the 9V track related, are much too complicated to do
from even good pictures alone, and what you realy would be lacking is the
ability to measure, compare proportions with other parts and look to it from
all angles. As an example, "Train Track  9V Straight" took more than a year
to develop and get approved.
The same applies to "eyes needed to look at parts" (or certification as we
call it). It's not a good idea to give comments on a LDraw file for a part
that you don't have in front of you in the real world.

Maybe you still have a part in your collection that hasn't been done yet. It
may be less glamorous than a track part, but this would be a much greater help.

With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen.
