About the ONLY place where authoring might work was in doing decorated parts
(using QUAD2dat) from scans. And even so you can get burned... is that color
actually red, or is it maroon? Is that a yellow circle in the background or
just a scan artifact?

So Manfred and others really really are doing you a favor advising you to
only use parts you have. If you use parts you don't have you will frustrate
the reviewers, and ultimately yourself because your parts will (eventually,
after a lot of wasted effort) get rejected...

Good luck! Done correctly, parts authoring is quite personally rewarding and
you will be doing the community a service with your work, so thanks!
