A problem there is that, looking at the list, many of the parts are rare
or ``vintage''. For example, I've been looking at this part recently
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/x684c01.dat
(because a newer version appears in set 4164
http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/4164-1
with part number 3888). I've been surprised at all the activity on that
part, because it's a specialized Fabuland part and I imagine that most
reviewers don't own much Fabuland-specific Lego. This part is probably an
excption; in general, if a part is rare reviewers won't own the part, and
they probably won't even look at the file. If they do, the best help they
can give is to try to find obvious missing pieces or errors (which you
probably found already), without being able to say how well the file
models an actual piece of ABS. If an *admin* doesn't own the part, and
the existing votes were by reviewers who didn't own the part, it would
clearly be irresponsible to release it.
The best solution I that comes to my mind is that reviewers should just be
on the lookout for rare parts they own, so that they can be sure to do
careful comparisons in case no other reviewers have the part. That would
probably be the best use[1] of their (reviewing) time.
