I would use l3p and povray, but since l3p only runs on wintel, you have to do that part on a wintel box. Here's how I would do it: 1. What's the "best"[1] automated or semi-automated way to render a large number of parts images into GIFs? (It's OK if there are multiple steps or if a final pass has to convert the results from PNG or BMP to GIF.) What I would like to do for the (...) (...) I see what you're saying, but I think you're misunderstanding excluding 'parts' for 'people.' This isn't intended to exclude individuals from the group at Lugnet or from using ldraw.org. IMASO the site should continue to promote Lego brand parts and editors which use the LDraw format, and not push (...) (...) Disagree. I remember trying it out Tyco in 1988 and it left a very bitter taste in my mouth -- blyecch -- and at the time I wasn't even a LEGO purist. True, Tyco was the best of the non-LEGO off-brands, but the quality still never quite lived (...) (wanted to change the color on a piece, when i could of done it in ldraw editer, butused MLCAD for the color thing) thats all pieves. now, what is kool other than that, MLCADis a (...) Has anyone tried to make new parts with MLCAD? I would like to learn how to do them and then contribute to the LDraw library. I am assuming right now that it can only be done with Notepad and saved then viewed with MLCAD, but I don't know. I am (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

If you are unsure about the centre of the part you are currently working on, you can temporarily switch to a different part, move it around, set the centre, and LEdit will remember this 'till the next time you reset the (...) That was a trick answer. I don't know how and I am hoping someone will say how. I think MLCad takes the center of the grouping bounding rectangle. It certainly doesn't seem to be based on the origin. I am pretty purist myself and can't see using clones or modeling with them (except in trains if some clone comes along and delivers what most trainheads want at acceptable quality levels), but I repeat my thesis: Why be exclusionary? Looks good, BUT 1.You should have put this in .cad.dat.models.sets. 2.Are you sure that there are lights in this set? 3.Do the lights have any holder brick?
