Don't pay for anything. You can use L3PAO and L3P and Pov-Ray for free. Take your MLcad models and use the L3PAO program to create POV-Ray files. Then in POV do the animation. There is NO internet how-to site for this and the process has been a (...) (23 years ago, 22-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

You'll definitely want to setup the inclusion of POV-ray primitives (see Lars' L3p website for more info) to make your renderings more realistic-looking. TIP: Once you get L3p and L3pao setup, edit your c:\windows\ldraw.ini to reflect the proper (...) (23 years ago, 21-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

Steve, I can explain better using black and white printers; for color, just add four times the explanation. For a monochrome printer, there is a tradeoff between lpi and grayscales. I have been pondering this point for years, but don't know much about the half toning for CMYK ink mixing algorithms. Is this something you know about? (...) MLCad and LeoCAD both work on Win2k without any problem. So does LDView, LDLite, L3Lab, and a few others (not going to take time to list them all). If you want to use LEdit with Win2k, go to Start>Run. Type 'command' and the DOS prompt comes (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad)

What kind of extraordinary printer do you have ??? Even with good inkjet photo printers (with so called 1440 dpi resolution, which is actually dot placement resolution), you can't see improvements above 200 dpi... To be conservative, your image (...) Michael - When you go into the new parts dialog (key shortcut I) and select 'custom part,' the open file dialog doesn't support .LDR. It only allows MPD and DAT, so you have to key in *.ldr manually to view LDR files. Also, I have another problem, a (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

You need to create an image in POV-Ray that's at least 4800 x 4800 pixels. You can't/don't need to set the ppi in POV-ray. Then make sure your image program prints it at 600 dpi (do _not_ resample the image). You're weren't asking how to create (...) The 0 INCLUDE meta-command could be used to install custom colors much like the ldliterc.dat file. I'm sure there are plenty of other non-POV (...) (23 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.cad.dev)
