Not entirely true. Chris withdrew his contest out of respect for Todd - which shows that Chris does
not respect Todds choices in who Todd has elevated to Admin status.
|
Is it required?
|
It is required that all other members be respected. Those who have
volunteered to give their time and efforts to the better good, especially.
On a more legalistic note, posts by Admins as Admins (using the @lugnet
address) should be considered on a level directly below the ToU. If you
are warned to not do something by an Admin, then you should heed that warning.

|
I do think there are problems with the rules and their administration by
some of the admins. I believe that both are workable while reenstating the
respectful tone that we all used to use.
Was this a group vote? Was it unanimous?
|
It followed the established process for suspensions. An Admin proposed the
suspension with a given amount of time (in this case, indefinite) and
another Admin concurred. In the interest of speed, no formal vote was
taken.
|
Then I object again.
|
Please refer to this post about
Lugnet Policies.
The Admin team is not designed to be a democratic entity, rather its a
reality-check mechanism whereby no single person holds absolute
decision-making powers.
|
|
Chris was not suspended for his actions in a particular issue - but for a
gross and unacceptable insult to a fellow Lugnet member.
|
And yet, Admins can insult and berate sarcastically and have no warnings or
admonishment of any kind?
|
I should refer you to this
post. Larry has been suspended for his inappropriate actions.
Insults and sarcasm happen all the time. It is when these actions reach
such a flagrant level that actions are demanded.
Your objections have been noted. Thank you for your input on this evolving
process.

| (...) You require is completely unreasonable. Good luck enforcing it. What is required is that people be treated with respect, which is not the same as having respect for them. Again, I will point out that Larry has been extremely disrespectull in (...) (16 years ago, 4-Mar-05, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)
