Or we can be adults, realize that things get said in the heat o passion, and
get over it. Its one thing to edit for profanity, its a different animal
all together if we start editing for intent--wheres the line on that one?

YAY Dave!!!!!!!
Pushed to protest..... I tried earlier to get suspended, I came really really
close, but apparently its not that easy to do.
I sent this email to Todd, from which he sent it out to the rest of the admins
with my permission.

This hippie has gone on strike, I dont want to set
out to break the ToU (way too easy to do anyway) but
I want suspended as well.
I disagree and fully object with the turn of events,
the way it was handled and I fully I agree with the
points that Jojo, Dave, Terry, Chris and now, Richie,
Kevin and Ross are attempting to make.
I respectfully request I am suspended. To me it is a
personal act of defiance against what I see as an
injustice of the hammer being dropped only when
convenient and as an act of peaceful activism. The
only way that can be achieved here in my opinion in a
nonviolent version of civil disobedience.

If I understand it correctly, it takes two admins to make the suspension happen,
but only one to veto it. Apparently my request was vetoed by just one admin.
Now.....Sure, I could just put myself on a timeout, or self imposed suspension
(as suggested by some admin) but that hardly mean anything to me, or anyone else
concerned about this process.
I believe in standing up for what I believe in, so as I see it, but apparently
am having difficulties reaching the online picket line. My plan was to get
suspended, and stay that way until Chris was re-instated by admin, not by some
apology he is forced to make. Since that didnt happen I figure I have two
choices here.
Plan A
1) Break the ToU on purpose (which truly is against my nature but I will if
forced, hmm is that enough gentlemen, I just said I would, must I actually do
it? Is intent to break the ToU enough today?) Or....
2) Plea one more time to admin to actually respect my protest.
Or we go straight into plan B
Since it only took one admin to stop me from being suspended. I publicly beg for
one of you, just one single admin to veto his suspension. Todd?? Lenny??
Frank?? Kelly?? Matt?? Can just one of you see how this is unfair? Look, I may
be a bit of a nut case, but I am also pretty reasonable when looking at things
from an outsiders view. I have also backed you up on policies that I did not
believe in myself, but out of respect for what your goals are.
Why do I want you to consider this? To show that you recognize that Chris acted
no different that others that have not been punished. He took back his
contest and has respected the suspension he has been imposed with.
Not that it matters, but Chris is not my favourite man on the planet, but IMO,
he is also not an irrational man acting out with malicious intent. Chris and
Larry have taunted each other ever since I started to read Lugnet. I was there
then, as I am now, I can assure its not like Chris came out of the blue and
just started attacking the admin. They both dropped their gloves a long time
ago. Larry has his issues, and Chris has his as well. As I see it, Chris was a
frustrated man acting out in a way that ~he~ deemed to be fair and just and he
did not act alone, but also under the influence of others (and no, I am not
naming members of rtlT here, be there any confusion, I am talking about various
individuals that back his stance).
Come on, its not like he aimed a gun and fired, he took a pot shot, and one
that didnt even land close enough for a surface wound. What is the difference
between his frustration, and all others frustration with this whole process???
He pinpointed an admin.??? Then bring on the fire squad, because he is far from
the only one that has.
It has been stated time and time again, the system is broken, and it needs to be
fixed. I want to help with that process, but if the rules today are not clear,
how can one help making them better?
All I am asking for is a fair treatment of all that break the ToU, and a clear
ToU at that, which means, everyone gets punished, or no one does. Its truly
that simple.
Of course, you could go the other way and imposed a timeout/suspension on every
single person that has made infractions on the rules in place (oops there goes
half the membership), from every bit of profanity or insult or pompous remark.
(Im sure I would get mine then, because I am sure this post alone could be
considered inflammatory to a degree.)
Its in your hands now admins, help me choose my plan.
Before anyone freaks that Im trying to make new rules in a sandbox that doesnt
belong to me, or Im whining or whatever else you want to claim, keep in mind, I
had the backing of all the admins. in the discussion, except the one that vetoed
me.
Respectfully submitted,
Janey Is that a picket sign? Red Brick
