I'm also *very* interested in seeing how Bluetooth can be leveraged to
connect up to laptops and desktop systems, as well as multiple NXT's.
Ideally, there would be a networked development environment that allows you
to move code around between the NXT's and other machines, and facilitates
task sharing and partitioning.  I can imagine something like the Aibo soccer
league being possible, where multiple 'bots share information to achieve
coordinated behavior.

Interesting that nobody picked up on this from the LEGO site:

"Exclusive to the MINDSTORMS Education NXT software, Bluetooth also enables the
computer to communicate to several NXT devices at the same time."

This tends to imply that the retail software *won't* have this capability, which
I would certainly find disappointing.

I have also received confirmation from one of our local LEGO Educational
suppliers: "Yes, the Educational software will have more features than the
retail version.", however no detailed information on what extra features it will
have.

Well, THAT sure stinks.  What's the deal on that?  Have we hobbyists become
second class LEGO citizens to the educational market?  Why even bother to have
two different release trails?

LEGO, what's up with that?
