  Re: Walkers

Yep, good luck, building a two legged walker is tricky. Most of the ones I have seen including non lego have big feet to stabilize the structure. (...) (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Walkers

Thanks. Just after I posted, I went for a browse on the official site, and found about 5-6 "real" walkers. Now I can keep working on mine, knowing that it's possible! Gordon (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Walkers

Hey , I remember seeing a two legged walker on the mindstorms site, the walker was controlled by one RCX, if you scroll back thru the past invention/index you'll find it. Legomaster@gobi.com (...) (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Walkers

Hi all. Has anyone here managed to build a "real" 2-leg walker. What I mean by "real" is one that doesn't rely on a dragging tail, or sittnig on it's ass to walk, but actually transfers it's weight to one foot and takes a step with the other, then (...) (...) I don't have anything *like* this much luck. I find I can lose the signal really easily...I think it depends a LOT on the size of the room and the colour and type of the paint on the walls. The power from a light source decreases with the (...) (24 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: saving me pennies

I agree with what was posted before that you might want to get some basics in programming first before moving onto mindstorms... Though ff you want to get started quickly on your bots I´d suggest NQC which has a *very* good tutorial online somewhere (...) (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

hi all Even I thought that you have to keep facing the rcx only in front of the transmitter, but later I found that it can be controlled even if the rcx goes under the bed or some hidden place.. I´m wondering if i can use the computer's memory and (...) (24 years ago, 9-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Try the original software, then NQC, then others. For a start try Dave Baum's book Definite Guide to LEGO Mindstorms. If your library doesn't have it, there's some material on the web: (URL) Jürgen Stuber <stuber@loria.fr> (URL) (24 years ago, 8-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Yes - there is a 2.0 RCX - but I don't think it's available quite yet. However, you can install the 2.0 firmware on the 1.0 or 1.5 RCX's - so that's not a reason to wait. Probably the most significant thing about RIS 2.0 is that the IR 'tower' (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Try to get the version 2.0 RCX so you will have the eternal power connector. writes; Bob Fay Yes Bob, I like the little typo ... so apt. Now if I could only find a source of eternal power ;) JB (24 years ago, 8-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
