Heh...I left out the key word...That being what's the "MAXIMUM" voltage
and/or mA it'll take. I want those 'lil motors running with max
torque/output -but I'd rather not fry my RCX's 'lil brain. And even #24
guage is just a wee bit too big for soldering on to SMT boards (umm...just
to clarify SMT being [S]urface [M]ount [T]echnology). -Shoot, if you can
cleanly solder #22 to SMT PCB boards you are way more hardcore than me! :)

So while trying to modify my brick to accept 9v from an AC adapter, I
managed to blow the SMT diode/fuse. Anyone know the rating (or part #) of
the fuse/diode so I can replace it?

#22 gauge hookup wire is a place to start, I'd suggest putting a easily
replacable in-line in there just in case...

While I'm at it, anyone know what voltage/mA the RCX can take as input?
I

Q1: How many batteries does it take?

Q2: How much current can each battery provide?

Q3: What is the series/parallel arrangement of the batteries?

A: Use Ohms Law

If you're running around blowing fuses then you need more practice with
basic DC circuits.

Why can't this list have a Reply To: block?... (...) I'm looking at my V1.0, just behind the power connector there are two small rectangular components. They don't have a band on them (probably not a diode as even SMT diodes have cathode marks). (...) (24 years ago, 14-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)
