Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast. A classic piece of reactionary twaddle.
|
I had forgotten all about
freedom
fries: It was a culinary rebuke that echoed around the world, heightening the
sense of tension between Washington and Paris in the run-up to the invasion of
Iraq. But now the US politician who led the campaign to change the name of
french fries to freedom fries has turned against the war.
Does anyone still support this daft war?
Ho-hum.

I
didnt imagine that anyone could get me feeling particularly sympathetic
towards France, but it happened. Is there such a thing as good French beer?
:-) Gotta stick with that inexpensive California wine, though.
