Now there's a question worth pursuing...
A local DJ (Derringer in the mornings on Q107--Toronto's Classic Rock
station--shameless plug for my favourite radio station) decided to call up
Harpo productions after the Emmy's to see if he could get in contact with
the "very personable and approachable" Oprah. At the very worst, he said on
the air, he expected a polite receptionist to answer the phone. Instead he
got an abrupt answering service stating that in order to send *any* info,
he'd have to visit the website and post it from there...
It was quite funny--one of those things where 'you had to be there...'
Never having seen Dr. Phil, I cannot comment on it, nor do I feel like
watching it--first it's on when I'm at work so I can't even see it.
Once in a very long while, I watch Jerry--it is bottom drawer entertainment,
but he knows it and does not try to come off as anything other than what his
show does--pure pandering to the lowest common denominator.
For the most bit, though, Judge Judy is my only fix for any type of reality tv.
My television watching is much reduced from what it used to be--JAG, WW,
Enterprise, Simpsons, and Everybody Loves Raymond--that's about it--rest of
the time the idiot box is off and I'm listening to Brahms.
