Like I said, it *does* matter who is at fault, some of the time.

Some of the time, but not all of the time.  And I'd say, beyond a certain point,
the majority won't care who is at fault - because its been beaten down so much.
(Right now, I don't care who is at fault - I'm just sick of hearing about it.  I
still want to be able to read other topics in debate without being bothered by
it though.  I won't block either of you on a newsreader because I like posts you
both make outside of nitpicking each other, and my newsreader (OE) threads
poorly when a blocked person participated in a thread)

I reject the notion that there is no difference between the person who asks
silly questions and the person who just can't resist scratching the
unscratchable itch. (Duane H. and I had a very fruitful conversation about
that notion a week or so back in regard to our friend the spoofer...)

This makes sense.

I have seen two camps here in this thread. Those that wish we both would
shut up because they feel we are equally to blame, and those who wish Scott
would stop with his asinine behaviour. I haven't seen a third camp that
assigns the bulk of the fault to me, (or to a lesser extent, to the other
people that Scott has picked on with his questions in the past) other than
Scott himself. Why is that?

I won't answer that question, because I don't want to get into who is right or
who is more mature ;-)  I understand your point, though.

Ever *not* scratch an itch, and instead of staying there or it getting worse, it
goes away?  That's what I suggest doing.

One other minor point, since Scott is likely to post "youch, an insult" in
response to something in this post. Insults and truth are not mutually
exclusive. I've insulted him, yes, but I haven't said anything about his
behaviour that isn't true, and everyone knows it, except Scott.

I won't expect him to realize it any more than I expect you to realize that
you're doing no good by continuing to scratch the itch.

The above is not something that could have been taken to email, sorry.

That's ok.  I just hope you realize that some of us are sick of it and don't
care what the difference is, or who is right.  We just don't want to hear it
anymore.
