Most states I've lived in, anything loose in the car is NOT covered.  And I for one
agree with that statement, I wouldn't expect an insurance company to have to pay for
something you left laying around in plain sight, that they/you have no way to prove

Well, that's part of the catch.  You see, Michigan's not really much of a socialist
state--so this kind of comprehensive coverage does cost me.  However, it costs me less
to have full coverage with all the bells and whistles from Michigan that it would for me
to have PLPD here in New Jersey.  Thank God for education being considered "insufficient
reason" for residency!  There's a law I never thought I'd be happy to see operate.
