I would opt for Fremont over Albany, as it is an hour closer to me each way and I am already driving 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. each way as it is. Actually, a magnet and reed switch would be more reliable than a touch sensor. Or maybe use an optical sensor. Sounds neat. I still think we need to build some digital motors, or a train whistle module, with the whistle timing controlled by the voltage on the track. You should consider the Droid Developer Kit, it has quite a few nifty white technic pieces. I made a nice little space christmas train out of the microscout.
