Strangely, I've found that one of my MOC deisel engines doesn't hold up well in 'extended service'...after a few hours, I was suffering frequent structural failures. At the risk of letting the cat out of the bag, I know of a person who has a s*** load of Metroliners. Any chance he will hook us up? (Hint, hint!) If we end up doing NMRA, it would be nice to have a monster Metroliner on the layout. I'll have at least 15 cars relatively soon (not all with full doors/windows - 3 4558s, 2 grey wagon plates, and 4 4547s), Mike has 12, so that's 27 already. Anyone (...) Well, for the first meeting, we have some things to discuss - major things that are hard to change later on. We need to set up standards for module construction, track locations, spacing, number of lines, etc. These are critical, since it determines (...) Toy Go Round comes through again! On first glance, the set appears to be 90% complete. There are a few missing minifigs as well as the windshields for the train (which I can replace easily). Cutting out carefully is a drag! And in our case an oval is a hard shape to cut nicely. I thought about a die-cut cutter. My wife has a ton of them for her "creative memories" stuff. That would apply to shades of gray as well. I would suspect that printing pink or yellow or light blue on a sticker that goes over a black piece will likely have some color bleed through, also. Some bad news... As you all may know PNLTC has recently adopted a new logo ((URL) found that any logo with "white" in it has trouble! Most (99%) printers don't print white. So if you are going to print this on to clear stickers... The white comes (...) I have made it in both a windows metafile, which will retain its sharpness regardless of the size it is printed, which is excellent for banners, and a gif for easy viewing. It can be (...) I am assuming John Neal is completely interested in this: I have just finished my first 8 wide train car. It is an adaption of Larry P's custom hopper. I would opt for Fremont over Albany, as it is an hour closer to me each way and I am already driving 3 1/2 - 4 hrs. each way as it is. Actually, a magnet and reed switch would be more reliable than a touch sensor. Or maybe use an optical sensor. Sounds neat. I still think we need to build some digital motors, or a train whistle module, with the whistle timing controlled by the voltage on the track. Last night I got the last droid development kit ($59), and the last 4561 from either hillsboro (OR) target. the 4561 was still at $77.90, but was partially opened. Sat night at the Milp Target, I got the last 4561 they had - it was obviously a return, there were lots of things missing, and all the bags were open. When I bought one 4561 on Saturday morning (in Milpitas), there is still two copies of 4561 left...
