By all means, you should stop at LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad. You just need to check every local target. I hit 4 yesterday, and all had switched to 50% off on the MOT sets. I was nice and only bought ONE of the large train set, leaving some for others. Probably the closest LUG/LTC you are going to find is BayLUG and BayLTC, which are based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I know of a place in Santa Monica that is available for free. The World Cafe 2820 Main St. has an enclosed patio adjoining the bar. They have several small tables with chairs for about 50 people.
