I am trying to find out what the line is so I can decide
whether to support or oppose.

uhg, I am *so* sick of the "I need to know where the line is" b.s.

Your poor elementary school teachers... I can hear you now:
"..yes Ms. Bizzbee, BUT, if I have gum in my mouth and I'm not chewing it,
is that ok? because the rule says 'no gum chewing' and right now, I'm not
chewing it."

Sometimes the guise of logic won't cut it with me, Larry.  Neither will the
defense of one's bickering by claiming innocent clarification.

"You missunderstand, Ms. Bizzbee. I was not bickering with Tommy when I
said, 'My daddy's bigger than your daddy,' I was merely stating a fact."

Line-drawing where such a thing is impossible or impractical, is a large
part of what's kept me from posting in admin discussions. Because I've know
I don't have time for such hand-holding.

But in the 6 months I've watched you guys do this, I've developed a keener
vision for 'the line,' if you will, beyond which I need not feel obligated
to micro-define rules for you.

If the vast majority 'get it' via common sense, that's good enough for me.

But! Just for you Larry, for today only, let's let the community decide:

Should Suzanne spend the rest of her afternoon helping Larry make his
decision? OR, should she continue writing her second letter to TLC about
their unauthorized use of her trademark in their sales promotion, and then
making a list of issues to discuss with Todd in her weekly phone meeting?

Most of the time when Scott baits me, I don't rise it it. I'm pretty proud of
my record (no one is perfect of course) lately, I've ignored 95+% of his
baiting.

But I don't think it *should* be OK to keep baiting and baiting and baiting
the way he does.

And I don't think he (or anyone) should be able to get away with it over
and over and over just because most people ignore it most of the time.

Larry, you're whining.

it's sad.

(...) And you're bickering with *me* (and a little grandstanding besides(1), truth be told) because you'd rather just ignore the very real problem of Scott Arthur and hope it goes away. It won't. You've enabled his behaviour. But OK, whatever. Your (...) (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

(...) Well if this is an actual vote of the people, then I vote for working on the letter. If this wasn't an actual vote then please ignore this post. :) thanks, mark (23 years ago, 14-May-02, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.general)
