You still haven’t answered why organizers wouldn’t want to let everyone know that someone is making money off an event. If that’s a good thing - which you and I and most other people here think it is - why would you want to keep that a secret?

I think I did, listing them numerically, in fact.

For example, and to get a little blue-- the sex life of a married couple is a Good Thing™, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t because they choose not to discuss it in public. Wouldn’t you agree?

Merely because something isn’t transparent doesn’t make it nefarious. It’s simply called private. Privacy is a Good Thing™. So respect it. As I said before, if it bothers you, don’t volunteer/attend/patronize. That’s your perogative.

Bringing this back to my initial post-- I think that asking for private information on a public board is, at best, bad form and casts aspersions that are unwarranted.

(...) Calling for volunteers does give the impression something is a non-profit, yes. (...) So you're saying volunteers shouldn't be compensated, right? I agree with you there, I just think it should apply to all volunteers involved in an event. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)
