You still havent answered why organizers wouldnt want to let everyone know
that someone is making money off an event. If thats a good thing - which you
and I and most other people here think it is - why would you want to keep
that a secret?

I think I did, listing them numerically, in fact.
For example, and to get a little blue-- the sex life of a married couple is a
Good Thing™, but that doesnt mean it isnt because they choose not to discuss
it in public. Wouldnt you agree?
Merely because something isnt transparent doesnt make it nefarious. Its
simply called private. Privacy is a Good Thing™. So respect it. As I said
before, if it bothers you, dont volunteer/attend/patronize. Thats your
perogative.
Bringing this back to my initial post-- I think that asking for private
information on a public board is, at best, bad form and casts aspersions that
are unwarranted.

| (...) Calling for volunteers does give the impression something is a non-profit, yes. (...) So you're saying volunteers shouldn't be compensated, right? I agree with you there, I just think it should apply to all volunteers involved in an event. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)
