Hi all,
For everyone who has switched over Id like to hear your reasons for doing so
and stories or examples of why youre happy enough with the colour change to buy
bley and use it.
My reasons are as follows:
- Access to the absolutely fabulous new parts like mini-slopes, 1x3 curves and numerous others
- More attractive hues which better match other LEGO colours
- Access to three new colours which are close enough to the old ones to achieve subtle effects formerly impossible (see here for a perfect example)
- Ability to buy more grey or brown pieces at non-inflated prices
Im sure there are other really good reasons to switch and Id like to hear some
of them.
Tim

| (...) I've mentioned this in other threads, but basically I'll build with whatever is available. The color change itself doesn't bother me so much. When I first started collecting, I didn't have much grey, but I built up a collection. When the color (...) (18 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

| (...) Hi Tim, You've really summarised the reasons for using bley very well, and I agree with them all - although I would not give them all equal #1 ranking. I guess my main reason is that they are nicer to look at (particularly the new dark grey) (...) (18 years ago, 8-May-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

| (...) I like Dark Bley. It's a different-enough color for me to see it. I never really liked the old greys, they always looked yellowed and faded to me. Brown- now, I liked old brown. I have a lot of it, and I feel protective and nostalgic about it (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

| (...) Are you sure your eyes are working correctly? The vast majority of the LEGO color palette has a warm tone to it, including "primary" blue, a color which is traditionally supposed to be the far extreme of the cool palette. The bleys have a very (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

| (...) <snip> The new bleys are horrible. They are so bad, everyone should save themselves from using them by sending their entire stock to me. :D I like both greys, honestly. They each have their purposes. I prefer the older ones for Castles, (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

| (...) Well, the thread seems to have gone a bit off track. I guess that's good- a discussion of lighting technology is appropriate- after all, without light, it doesn't matter what color anything is. But, back on topic- It's been mentioned that (...)
