But more importantly, until we've a consensus on what level of validation
is
appropriate, I'd rather we just brainstormed about different validation
mechanisms and their pros and cons, without committing that any particular
one be used or, conversely, ruling it out... saying "ABSOLUTELY OPPOSE" in
all caps isn't quite in the spirit of brainstorming, in my view.

I wasn't brainstorming.  I was expressing my opinion.  I was expressing it as
strongly as I thought was appropriate given how strongly I felt about it.
I am
not only concerned with myself about this issue, I don't think that
ldraw needs
*anyones* personal information off of a utility bill, ID card,
bank statement or
what have you.  I also don't think that we'd be able to read 1/2 of them as
they'd be in a different language.

gotten all the possibilities developed yet.

I tend to personally favor not working TOO hard to antispoof, but I'll stand
by what I said, you may be inadvertantly stifling brainstorming on this, and
I'd rather people keep trying to think of ideas, unless we're ready to move
on. I think a number of ideas are still out there but haven't been voiced.

Unless you're sure a consensus has already formed it may be best for the
community process if you don't state your preferences quite so forcefully
just yet, it tends to be a bit stifling to others. Just something to consider.
