A quick note, after a delay and vacation, I have posted an update to Ldraw Viewer on my .Mac site. homepage.mac.com/aallan/LdGLite This update gives support with both Classic and Carbon Versions (The Carbon version runs on 10.2.1). I think the reason for the capital .DAT extension is because LDraw was original DOS. If you install the original package under windows, all directories and files will be capitals as well. Furthermore I do not experience any problems with lower or (...) (22 years ago, 26-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

It seems like a while back, parts were supposed to have the extension ".DAT". But I'm seeing that all the links on ldraw.org seem to point to files with ".dat" at the end. What's the scoop- are lower-case filenames considered ideal now? Which ldraw (...) (22 years ago, 25-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

When authoring "glass" parts, should I include BFC statements? It seems like we wouldn't want to cull because all surfaces should be visible from any direction. On the other hand, BFC is a performance optimization and transparent surfaces are (...) (22 years ago, 25-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

The ldglite window in Mac OS X 10.2.2 shows nothing... I am assuming it broke in 10.2. Apple changed quite a bit between 10.1 and 10.2. It probably just needs to be rebuilt. James (22 years ago, 25-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

I like having a parts list. It makes a HUGE difference. I also love being able to click and drag the parts. What determines what plane the part is dragged in? Version 0.5b (says 0.5 in Finder until you do Get Info) New features: Can choose LDRAW folder in the carbon version. Let me know about this. Cleaned up the rendering options greatly. Could anyone make a program with a timer you can set, either by command line argument or with a Win32 GUI (doesn't matter which), to perform a Touch (update time stamp) on a file every n seconds? (...) This didn't work. The classic copy of BrickDraw3D doesn't even save the preferences. It worked in Classic though. But, every time I launched it, I had to select the LDRAW folder. Sorry about the preferences file gotcha. The workaround is to copy your preferences file from Classic. Choose the LDRAW folder in Classic. Copy the file from /System Folder/Preferences/BrickDraw3D Preferences to ~/Library/Preferences/ cp "/System (...) (22 years ago, 22-Nov-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

BrickDraw3D came back to OS X 10.1.5/CW8.1 yesterday as a Carbon app. The same old problems exist, but, instead of crashing OS X, they generate nice little access faults which are caught normally in the debugger. Kinda late, but here goes: Keving Dixon won both categories this month. A rare occurance, but well deserved. Both his model and scene were excellent. I noticed that some of the fraction cylinder primitives (1-8, 2-4, 3-4, 3-8) are missing a conditional line at one end. The 1-4 cylinder has type 5 lines at both ends. I personally edited 3001.dat to be BFC compliant. I'd be interested if it's not done correctly. If you have a Parts libray as of at least this past spring, I would think you'd have the 3001.dat that I 'fixed'... Well I think it got approved around (...)   BFC Ceritfied Parts Question
 
I've notice a few parts on the Parts Tracker that are BFC certified, but some of their component primitives are not. Can justifiably I certify these parts? If I can, why? What if the part is BFC certified and then later on the primitive is BFC (...) (22 years ago, 22-Oct-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
