As an update, since returning from vacation about a month ago with my new
DDR Mac, I set about getting my code to work in OSX. At present I have
versions of my program in both "Classic" and "Carbon", with the Carbon
version being Aqua aware.

Converting from Classic to Carbon largely involved completely re-writing the
event manager handling code but other than that all else has remained the
same.(something I haven't had to do from scratch for some years). So the
Carbon version has a proper Carbon event handler.

Cool.

I suppose I could give an update.  I have learned perl and used it a bit at
work.  And I am learning Cocoa in my spare time.  I can read it now, but not
write it.  And I need a reference to figure out what most stuff does.  So I
am not doing any active coding.  One of these days....  At least I can say I
know more about programming for the Mac then I did 2 years ago, when I knew
absolutely nothing.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you guys.

James
