  legality of entering LDraw files into POVray contest
 
I was wondering, if I enter one of the models I've made into a POVray contes, will I get into trouble with LEGO because not everyone will automatically know it's not an actual LEGO sanctioned project, or must I only include information about LDRaw (...) (...) Sub-models. You can make a sub-model DAT file for your model, say an arm, and have it centered on the axis of rotation. Then you insert this sub-model as a regular LDraw part in the appropriate place, rotate it, etc. with all the sub-model's (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

Is there a program available suitable for animation where I can load the LDraw file (converted to *.DXF or whatever) and make the hinges move as they would in real life? It's a pain to have to realign each part manually and not have it automatically (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

Since I'm new to all this CAD design I have a simple but troubling question for me. I see all the Ldraw data complied into all these post throughout LUGNET. Hi Jack, I used LDraw to make the model, so I'm not sure what the preview X's are in MLCad. I can help you with your other question though. There are a bunch of programs you can use to collect multi-part models into one file. The one I used is MP (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I apologize for lack of terminology. Here is the question: I downloaded the AT-ST model posted a couple days ago, and want to build it. When designing a part with a graphic on it, like a minifig torso, for instance, is it possible to "overlap" image shapes of different colors, or must there only be one "level" of image on a surface? (...) Open the minifig file in LDAO's Editor (not LEdit nor LDAO's Modeller). Notice that the ROTATE and TRANSLATE statements can be nested. Find a ROTATE or TRANSLATE which doesn't have any other ROTATE or TRANSLATE nested inside of it. So you're (...) (25 years ago, 15-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

I think you got caught by the move. No doubt the old URLs were good when you composed your note but they are not any more. They all have moved to Lugnet. (...) Thanks, Jeff. I've got LDAO loaded, and I just now used the Mini-fig Modeller feature to create a DAT file. :-) Now I've got a _different_ problem. . . . :-/ The DAT file created by LDAO has a whole bunch of ROTATE and TRANSLATE comments in (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

What is the recommended package of utilities I should use when creating/displaying LDraw files. I have LDraw, L3P, MLCAD, and POV-Ray, but I've noticede a lot of references to LDAO, LDLite, etc. as being required or necessary for running other (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

I've downloaded and installed both the M-Peedy Software, as well as the required Microsoft utilites. Yet, when I try to load the M-Peedy file I receive an error saying "Cannot Load from File". (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

Thanks for the new MLCad. I like the new move-mode better than the sliders. There is still a fault in save picture. On almost all off the pics off the model I just tried, there is missing surfaces in some off the bricks. I can E-mail you one off the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
