No, I don't think it is extreme. In fact, I think it might just be applicable
to LUGNET in some way, given the fact that many of the set listing pages have
affiliate links on them to eToys (and aren't there some pages with links
containing LUGNET's affiliate code for Amazon?). Every one of those links is
a potential money-maker (and more power to Todd for having them there - I hope
they make him a fortune someday). Every frustrated user who doesn't make it
to a page and see that link is a potential sale lost.
As for people being unable to find the discussion groups, try typing in this:
www.lugnet.com/castle
Anything there that even remotely suggests you might find something more if
you type this:
www.lugnet.com/castle/
No.
Call me lazy, won't bother me - /castle should work. www.hbo.com/sopranos
works. I guess the system administrator at hbo.com is more tolerant of "lazy"
users. Or maybe more interested in having his system fulfill its purpose than
in being 100% technically correct when it comes to URLs?

| (...) It's not that, Mike, it's that /castle is actually a valid URL of a valid webpage (it just happens to be empty). When I view that, it shows me a button which says "Start This Page" and I could click that and type in content onto that page if I (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
