Tony- AI is a huge field, encompassing a variety of algorithms and techniques. Some of them will work OK on the RCX, others take just too much computation, especially when floating point is required. Steve, I have also used Mindstorms to run a train, like this. But I used it in a railroad yard, not for a trolley. But it’s basically the same concept. I'll second that motion. This is very true. Always ask for a price check. K-Mart and the sale: Time to move on all those purple buckets I've seen here and there. $4.50 (from original $5.99) is pretty decent for 400 pcs. Although some K-Marts have (...) *Real* lasers don't even look impressive. It is pracitaclly impossible to get a laser in the visable wavelengths to cut stuff. Usually UV lasers are used for this purpose. Those peices did/do exist with Tyco bricks. I seem to remember a couple of 2x2 "plates." There was the double female one that was 1/2 brick thick, and the double male that was about the thinkness of a baseplate. The real cool piece was double male (...) Hi All, After a very frustrating weekend of fiddling with pbFORTH, I caved and asked Kekoa to help with a problem I was having with read_sensor() and pbFORTH. The problem we (mostly he) unearthed has to do with the SP and RCX firmware routines, so I (...) I was in Amsterdam on holiday (partly to buy the '99 train range) and noted the difference between the UK and the Netherlands. York is a very fine historical city, but totally devoid of good Lego. Only one toyshop in the City Centre (Toymaster) which had only current top-dollar offerings.
