Any motion between two hard surfaces, including sliding metal on metal (often called contact wiping), creates intermittent contact that has to be "debounced". I tried NiMH batteries in my RCX. It lost its firmware. I suspect the output voltage (6 x 1.2 = 7.2) is too low. Hallo Dave, for playing and programming Lego RCX I would like to use my older Macs, a PowerBook 190cs and Macintosh IIsi.
