So, I was messing around w/ the RCX and hooked up a Micromotor to one of my output ports and lo and behold....I could control the motor by toggling the Sensor Type for that port between a Passive (None, Switch, Temp) mode = OFF and an Active Mode (...) (27 years ago, 26-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

my rcx works fine with a universal ac to dc wall outlet. it has a switch to change the voltage. i've got it set at 9v and it operates at 800mA max. i figured 6 batteries x 1.5v =9v. i think it was originally for a keyboard (musical instrument, not (...) I bought all of them. 4055 FreeStyle bucket (red), shorter than the Lego Classic bucket 4288, 320 pieces 2494 Lego System bucket (purple), same size as (...) I played around with sensors and wires, and came up with a way to use the touch sensor as a switch. See my post at lugnet.cad.dat.ideas (URL). Here a touch sensor is used as a switch. See my post at lugnet.robotics for more details. Electric plates of the same color belong to the same wire. The green plate is the input. I really liked Ramblin' Robots by Ingrid Wickelgren. I learned some general things about robots - even though the book was written for teenagers. A book aimed at younger kids is Robotics by T. Yes, indeed, John is (as evah) right. Let me weigh in here as well... Putting meaning in keys is a sign of not very well seasoned designers, IMHO.
