(...) You can test this for yourself. Measure the voltage of a 9v battery with your voltmeter, then measure it again in series with a 10K resistor. It's still 9V! Now, think of all those track pieces (and joints) as tiny little resistors... :-) Mark (21 years ago, 14-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

Hmm. I've setup a bigger layout (one floorsworth) and still its a full 9v on the farthest away point. So its not he track. I strongly think its wheels contacting the rails so I'll try steel wool sometime tomorrow and say what happens. -- Peter (...) (21 years ago, 13-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

As a work avoidance project I decided to rebuild one of my loco's in 7 wide. Why 7 wide? Cause I'm a wild and crazy guy. :) Actually the real reason was the SNOT'd windshield I used on the 6 wide. Possibly Ben should get some franchises! My suggestion would be someone for Europe, based in Germany probably and someone in Australia (possibly somone in Japan as well). Now that we are seing more "custom" parts being made (for example the Starwars weapons, the Castle accessories and the Train wheels), it raises an important question... are these "Lego"? I'm really impressed with them: the ABS material feels quality the molding is excellent the Technic cross-axle hole is nice and tight the Technic pin (...) This weekend North Georgia LEGO Train Club (NGLTC) held an ornament building session at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta. They're not made yet. It's likely that they will be molded from pre-existing colors pallets. I don't know the pallet palette (that was fun to say), maybe Ben can answer that when he gets on line (which might be a couple days, he told me). SteveB (...) (21 years ago, 8-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains)

I just bought 2 cheap copies of 4588 Off Road Race Track (URL) a 48 x 48 baseplate 3 race track curves former a quarter circle that has ends 12 studs from the corners.
