This may be a bit of optical illusion, for the placement of the oversize
diameter place-holder wheels penetrate the 9v rail. Maybe that gives the
appearance that the wheels stick out left/right farther than do the 12v wheels?
See this
front-on image without vanishing point of the Ae 3/6.
The outer edge of the old-style spoked large wheel sticks out 1/5 of a stud
farther than does the outer edge of the 12v wheel. The inner edges of each
wheel are aligned along the same plane.

| (...) Yes that what causing it, now I look at the original image I can see that the wheels go lower than rail level.
