  4561 "The Alp Express"

I saw an interesting close-up photo of the bogus little "engine" from the 4561 and it appears to me that the blue corrugated used are 2 1x4s, which would be a new element. I was wondering if anyone else had that same impression. BTW,the catalog (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-99, to lugnet.trains)

Good topic! (...) 13 is a bit low for anything oversize, IMHO, but I model 'merican. It's probably OK for eurotrash stuff. (...) Good question. Just as with real railroads, the answer is "it depends". Your slope in general is limited by the (...) (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Track slope...

...I massively underestimated the minimum clearance for my first attempt at an overpass and so had to increase the slope of the track to get it up high enough. I ended up with 1 brick per segment, but had a lot of trouble getting the train to (...) (26 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: putting a 9v motor in 7722?

The 4.5 V motor is taller that the nub on the 9V motor so any train in which the 4.5V motor fits the 9V motor will also fit. Actually, you will need to add bricks to make the 9V motor fit. When adding a 9v motor to set 7720 I added two 4x4 plates to (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: US style couplers

I've simply used 2x2 plates that have a rounded end (looking down on them) with a hole at the rounded end. It accepts the magnet holder piece from the coupler and eliminates the rather unsightly 'buffer' things. To get the height right, you can (...) (26 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)
