Maybe Jar Jar will become a Jedi when they are all being killed off. The Jedi might be so desperate for reinforcements that they'll take anybody. (...) Jorge Rodríguez rodriguez.136@osu.edu (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Senator Palpintine / Emperor

Just to add my useless two cents ... I consider Lucas to be the greatest example of anti-pandering there is. He financed the production of Episode I (and ROTJ, I believe) with his own money, for that express purpose: so that he could do exactly (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) Oh, it won't go that far. Ewoks are dumb, Jar Jar is dumb... I haven't even ever met any kids who like Jar Jar.   Re: Senator Palpintine / Emperor

(...) I'm not a big Star Wars fan but I assumed he already WAS a Dark Jedi/Sith/whatever in Episode 1. Wasn't he "also" Darth Sidius, master of Dark Maul? That's how I saw it. (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: Senator Palpintine / Emperor

(...) Well. First, you're making the big assumption, that Senator Palpatine = Darth Sidious = Emperor Palpatine. One or another of those may actually not be true.
